DIY Lettered Pumpkins!
I have littered my home with pumpkins this fall. I’m loving the coziness that autumn brings! This is a quick and easy DIY project to help bring some style and modernity to this season’s decor.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- White spray paint
- Faux pumpkins
- Black craft paint
- Black permanent marker (optional)
The first step to this project is spray painting the fake pumpkins white. You may need a couple coats to get an even covering. A little note about my small pumpkin, I only used white spay paint to cover it – this mutant online-ordered gourd turned my white paint into light orange. I actually really like the light orange as an accent, and I’m not even mad about it.
Once you have your pumpkins evenly covered with paint, let them dry completely. Next, I did the lettering. Originally I planned on painting the words with black paint, but found that a black permanent marker let me control what I was doing much more easily. The marker also dries much quicker. Then, pick a pattern to paint! I decided to go with the minimalist crosses, and did this with a small, flat paintbrush. After the paint was dry, I took the Sharpie and made the corners sharper.
Let everything fully dry and enjoy! You have a modern pumpkin decoration!
