A couple months ago, my husband* and I thought, “Hmmm… what if we lived overseas for a year?” So that’s exactly what we’re doing! We packed 5 suitcases and 4 carry-ons, and headed out to China. We know that our insane-o decision will give us the adventure of a lifetime and bring us even closer together.
*Yeah, I got married to the most amazing guy ever. More on that later.
Within the first few weeks of being in China, we went out to see the section of the Great Wall near Beijing called the “Mutianyu” section. What was supposed to be a two-hour bus ride to the Wall turned into 4 hours, so that was fun…. but it was all worth it in the end.
When we arrived at the entrance, we were actually much lower than the wall itself, and had to be brought up the side of the mountain. We took a chairlift to the wall, and the view was breathtaking!
Certain parts of the wall are relatively flat, but Mutianyu was mostly stairs. We went up as far as we could see on this side of the mountain peak.
I’m so excited to share more of our adventures overseas. Leaving the comforts of home has been very weird for me, but I know that I will grow as a person and learn to rely more fully on God and my husband. Here’s to growth!
P.S. Shoutout to my hubby for taking some of these photos! He’s the real MVP for carrying my 3 million pound camera around a huge portion of the time.
