Welcome to The Salted Mint.

Hi. Welcome to The Salted Mint. This is a place where creativity and an eye for the extraordinary take first chair. Human beings live in an incredible world, and many people go through the motions without taking time to stop and think about the beauty around us –  and I mean actually stop. Sometimes you should freeze what you’re doing and actually plant your nose on a rose.

The Salted Mint is a showcase really just for my daily findings and musings. I’m a graphic designer slash photographer by day, and an over-thinker all other times. I’m no more extraordinary than any other person, but I do have a passion for sharing spice through my daily adventures. This project can help both me and (hopefully) you to look at everyday life with a new lens. This is a project of optimism. I can abso-fruit-ly promise you that grazing pretty picture-filled blogs will NOT fulfill you or make your life look or feel the way you want. Only God can fill your heart with purpose and joy, and even though I believe that without a doubt, I’m still on my journey to find out what that looks like for me.

Before you start thinking that I chose the most random name for a blog, let me explain my reasoning behind it. First off, let me tell you why I chose the “salted” descriptor. It comes from my favorite Bible verse found in Colossians. It says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (4:6). Living a life full of Christ was never intended to be boring! It was intended to be filled with purpose, adventure, and yes, salt. Life should be seasoned with it (always remembering the grace part too). Now here comes the “mint” part. One, it’s my favorite color, so that’s a good reason. But two, it’s to indicate a refreshing tidbit. I hope that my postings will add some spice and refreshment to your day.

So sit down, enjoy those pretty pictures, but then go outside and step on a crunchy autumn leaf and breathe in that crisp fall air.
